On the third day of Christmas my bartender mixed for me a drink that was distinctly clove-y
2 oz vodka
1 tsp Angostura bitters*
Fill glass with ice, add vodka, then bitters. Stir.
*Note: You can find Angostura Bitters at your local liquor or grocery store. I bought mine at SuperTarget and it was $3 (liquor stores tend to charge around $7) The drink gets it's clove and spice aftertaste from the bitters. There is really no substitute for bitters in this drink. The great thing about the bitters is you can use them in cooking as well as in cocktails. Click on my "bitters" on the right to see other drinks to use your bitters in.
