I have always loved Grace Kelly for her poise, beauty, aura of mystery of her private life, and of course, fittingly, her grace. I was so excited to discover that a Grace Kelly exhibit was going on. It has toured Europe and this was the first and only US exhibit. They chose Philadelphia for the location since she is from Philly.
Her Oscar for The Country Girl along with the dress she wore
cover of Vogue where she was photographed in her Oscar dress
I love these picture of her:
Fashion & Style
These are a few of my favorite dresses:
If you follow me on Instagram then you saw this photo I posted of her Hermes bag and gloves. She carried this bag everywhere which led Hermes to name it after her, the Kelly bag.
Here's a picture of her with her bag & gloves
Working with Alfred Hitchcock
One of my top 5 favorite movies of all time is Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief.
I love her entire wardrobe from that movie, sun bathing outfit, ball gowns, Marie Antoinette costume ball gown. *sigh*
Her Prince Charming
The dress for this picture was stunning. I wasn't able to get a picture of it though. :(
There were letters from Prince Rainier. They were filled with such love. He talked of counting the hours until she came back to him from a trip. It was really sweet. There was a TV playing home movies of the Rainier & Kelly family. Grace had 2 (I think) sisters and both were drop-dead gorgeous.
There were films of Hitchcock visiting Grace in Monaco, also Cary Grant and his young son were there, Bing Crosby; a lot of her Hollywood friends and co-stars. It was neat to see them goofing off and relaxing.
If you live in the Philadelphia area hurry and go see this exhibit. It ends Jan 26 and it's worth seeing.
sorry for the quality of the pictures, I only had my iPhone
